Snow Day!!!!

So this morning I guess we all woke up to the same suprise...SNOW!!!! I took Connor out three times, the last time he fell with his hands first and I think I took too long to help him up because he got a little upset (I'm sure his hands were freezing at that point.) Saturday we went to meet Marcos' family for lunch and stayed for snow on Fulton St. Hope you enjoy the pics and the update. Oh, Connor got a toy chest for his birthday and the other day i heard him screeching from the toy room, look what I found.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Our family started one of its new traditions. This year we went to a pumpkin patch so Connor could pick out his pumpkin, I think he enjoyed it (see the pics at the bottom.) also it was the first time he really got dressed up for Halloween, since last year he was only six days old. He was a spider, and we had the hardest tiem getting this costume on him. He threw a fit, and was sreaming crying, so what other choice did I have but to start feeding him a rice cripy treat...worked like majic. Halloween night we went to visit MeMe, and then went to the Abboud's annual party, Nona was with us. Connor crashed by 8:30, which was pretty good considering bedtime is 7.

Daddy, Connor, and Mommy It was so funny, Connor couldn't keep his balance at first in his costume.

The Big 1

Saturday was the big day, Connor's 1st birthdday. He had a great day, partially because he got to walk around all day outside. He loves being outside if I haven't mentioned it yet, he even fusses when we have to go back inside. Well, everything went great, and we couldn't have asked for better weather on Saturday. We had a great turnout, and all the kids were very entertained on the spacewalk/jumper. Connor loved digging into his cake, of course, and had hot dogs for the first time. We just went to the Dr. Collins today for his 1yr check-up and it was horrible (the shots that is.) /connor was weighing in at 25lbs 15oz, and 291/2 inches long, and everything was fine to the mean nurse walked in with the shots. Connor has never cried for more than 30seconds after his shots, this time his lips were blue and I swear he didn't breath for 20 seconds, it broke my heart, and that was only the first of three shots. Other than that, the little guy is doing great, and has offically graduated to walking...everywhere!
For some reason my pictures posted backwards... so here is the end of his feast.
This was only a couple of minutes into eating, it was so funny, he was holding pieces of cak in both hands ang going back and forth. He was in heaven. i am going to try to post a few better ones of him eating his cake.

Hey! It's my birthday!!!!

Connor's personal cake, the ribbons were attached to balloons so it looked like the bear was holding balloons, the cake came out so cute. I made this (believe it or not!)

This was the cake for everyone else, it was supposed to be a clown juggling balloons with Connor's name spelled out on teh balloons. I made this too!

Thanks to everyone who helped make Connor's birthday so special.

Finally...

Hey guys, here you go, an updated blog...as promised to Michele McCarthy. Thanks for annoying me until it was done. Well, a lot has been going on lately and we are getting ready for a big day real soon. It's so hard to believe that Connor has been with us for almost a year now, I don't know where the time has gone. Anyway, our little guy is walking now, taking about 20-35 steps at a time, then he sometimes chooses to start crawling when hes had enough. He is very interested in the refrigerator as you will see below, and anything else we have been hiding from him for the last year, like the dishwasher. He thinks it is his personal gym that he can crawl into, it's pretty funny. I love watching him discover things. Another of his favorite things is going outside, we go to Lafreniere Park at least weekly to go on the jungle gym, and the swing of course. He watches all the other big kids and trys to do everything they do.
This is a picture from our trip to Gulf Shores before we had to leave to evacuate for Gustav. Chase and Connor in the refrigerator...we couldn't keep them out.

Once again...the refrigerator.
Connor also is fascinated with Maxwell's room.

1, 2, 3...There are two new blogs, be sure to check them both.

I must say, I had more pictures to share than I realized. Also we forgot to tell you about Connor's new cousin, Elijah. Eli was born on Saturday, June 21st to my sister Jennifer and her husband John, everyone is doing well and getting adjusted just fine (I'm actually quite jealous, seroiusly all this baby does is eat and sleep). I guess what babies are supposed to do, but I don't feel like things were that easy with Connor.
Baby Eli, yawning after his long trip.
Connor chewing on celery, he absolutely loves it.

Here is a little langiape, and the sweetest laugh ever. The video is a little long, but I think you'll enjoy it. Be sure to check out Connor's arms at the end.

Ta Da...an updated blog!!!!

July 20th, as promised to my dear friend Michele...the newest mom to be for the second time around, an updated blog. Sorry guys, I really tried updating earlier, but had some downloading issues. So, to catch you up. At six months Connor was sitting up on his own, seven months crawling very well, followed closely by pulling to a standing position. He will walk while holding on to the furniture and eight months to the day his first tooth popped out. Connor will be nine months on the 25th, and now has two teeth, explores every room that has an open door, wants to eat whatever the adults are eating, loves swimming, and has the best laugh that you'll ever hear. Here are some of my most recent pictures.

April 20th...A Day at the Zoo

Connor had his first trip to the zoo at just about 6 months. I think Marcos and I enjyed it a little more than he did, but he was great. He sat in his stroller all day just taking in the sights. The day was beautiful, and we had been talking about joining the zoo, but we were going to wait until Connor got a little older but the day was too nice to pass up, so our journey began.
Is this the life or what?
Connor and Dad...Connor had his zoo outfit on (there were lions and monkeys, ect on his outfit) Like father, like son.
Where's Connor?
It's been a long day. We were looking at the beautiful leopards and turned around and somone was knocked out!

Connor's favorite time of the day

April 18th...is the day these videos were taken. A couple of days before I had to go buy Connor a new bathtub, because he simply wasn't fitting in the old one...I can't imagine why! Connor started to like his baths after six weeks, now that he can sit up when he is taking a bath he absolutely loves them. I hope you enjoy the videos!

A day in the life of Connor...Wakes up approximatetly 7:00am, eats his cereal, half of a container of veggies and half a container of fruit, plays for about 1 1/2 -2 hrs then takes a nap. Naptime- it has gotten a little better, now we go lay in mommy and daddy's bed with a NUK and goes to sleep on his own (sometimes he is still in the playing mode and needs to be persuaded by mom to nap). The length of naps are hit or miss, sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes 2hrs (which doesn't happen often). Then we repeat the cycle of eating, but a 5oz bottle this time. He gets food twice a day and just bottles twice a day, with a bigger bottle mixed with cereal for bedtime. After his 4 o'clock feeding he plays for a while, gets no nap, takes a bath, and goes to bed around 7pm, sleeps through the night until 7am, when we start all over again.

Easter Sunday

March 23rd - Connor spent Good Friday at my dad's camp on South Pass. He had his first boat ride, it didn't go over great, he did not like weaing a life jacket. Other than that we had a great day. Sunday we went to MeMe's for Easter Dinner. Connor has been very active lately. He likes playing on the floor, he is pushing up on his hands and knees, and scooting...just not in the right direction. He has been very vocal and loves to laugh. Our last visit to the doctor's office he was 17lbs and 11oz, yes a little chunky monkey.

Connor's Christening

This was a busy week for the whole family. The past Sunday was Connor's Christening, and he did great. Connor was baptized at St. Louis Cathedral, it was beautiful, and Connor was even blessed by the Bishop. He was very well behaved throughout the ceremony. Afterward we had a fish, oyster, and shrimp fry at our house. It was a beautiful day to be outside and I think everyone had a great time. Sorry I don't have a lot of pictures, I barely made it through the day. The night before was our girlfriend Julie Heitzmann's bachorlette party, and lets just say things got a little crazy. I owe a big thanks to Michele for helping me out the day of the baptism, we would have missed the whole ceremony if it wasn't for Shane calling and waking everyone up (including Connor). Our next big milestone is next week...Connor will be five months already!

More than just milk!!!

This past Sunday, March 2nd Connor got his first taste of rice cereal. It was mixed with Gerber apple juice so he loved it! He is only getting it mixed with juice once a day (first thing in the morning) and his last bottle of the night has a couple of scoops in it too. It's funny because he makes a weird face for the first couple of spoonfuls, then he can't get enough. Sorry we don't have a video, our card is almost out of space, we got it on the camcorder, but I can't download it. I hope you enjoy the pictures anyway. Oh, I started putting Connor in his bed today for naps, he only sleeps there for about 45 minutes though. I guess it's better than nothing.
First bites of cereal. Future Tulane grad...like father like son!

I had to add this pic, about 75% of the day Connor sits with his entire fist in his mouth, still making noises, and drool everywhere. Smiley boy
My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

4 Months!!!

Connor made 4 months old on Feb. 25th, and on the 28th we had a doctor's appointment. Connor weighs 15lbs 14.5oz (75%) and is 24 1/4in long (25%). Everyone that came in the room commented on his chubby legs (they're sooo cute), I'll make sure to take a picture of them for yall. Dr. Collins said we can start on Rice Cereal, so we are going to start on Sunday so Marcos and I can both be there, and so one of us can tape this new adventure. My poor little baby got three shots, I felt so bad for him, he only cried for about 30 seconds, it was helpful that it was naptime because he went right to sleep. We hung the doorway jumper from Monica and Josh last weekend and put together his walker (his feet don't touch the ground with the walker so I had to put a pillow under them). He liked his new toys a lot. Connor also like to sit up now (with the help of mom and dad of course). Other than that everything has been going good, just getting ready for Connor's Christening next weekend.

Connor likes when I put him on my shoulder and lift his legs up.
